Has anyone hooked up an AOD to a Y-block? I've been running the Ford-O-Matic behind my '56 312 and just can't seem to get it to perform right, mainly it spits fluid after sitting. I've had it rebuilt to no avail. I'm now at the point where I wouldn't mind an overdrive and I figured why not put a AOD. What's the good, the bad or the ugly with this combo? Any help will be appreciated.

I can't offer anything beyond this, but I recently read that the AOD was significantly larger than the TH-700R4, so if floor space is at a premium, you may consider an adaptor to the GM transmission instead.

I've got no qualms with running either a 200R4 or a 700R4. Anyone tried either of these?
