All I can say is, people rarely make friends doing this sort of thing.

What's left of the doors is worth that, probably x10. Plus, it looks like it's got a firewall in it, some of a windshield frame, the tops of the rear quarters. Musta been a hotrod at one time, judging from the filled roof and the taillights.

A really good metalman with a lot of patch panels could certainly fix it. I'll be watching to see what it brings.

  4. That is totally worth saving so I am going to try and win it and have my uncle pick it up for me since he lives out there and then figure out how to get out here once I win it. Thanks for the head up. Will let you all know what happens. If anything I can use bits and pieces to repair my coupe.

Yeah. I'd bid on it myself, but since I'm all the way in western Canada, shipping would be in the $2000 range; and at that point, I'd probably break even if I sold off all the parts. So, to me, it's almost not even worth it.

But to someone who has the means of getting it, it's probably one of the better deals you'll ever come across (unless the bidding goes crazy). :D

I appreciate you posting the eBay auction
There is someone out there in HAMB land with the talent and STONES to use some of the stuff.
I, on the other ... will not LIVE long enought with my meager metal working skills to ever fix it.

TITUS could have it going a month or so ... :D

-Not really an issue in Illinois... As far gone as it is, it could be titled as a "home-built automobile" in order to get a title. Would just have to be inspected when finished... -Tony B.

I paid $75 for this body with the doors and trunk and grill shell with the side rails and rear crossmember. Of course that was in '65. I sold it as pictured without engine or transmission for $4000 in '98

That would make an awsome vintage circle track car. Probably was one, in a past life.

Pictures make everything look better.... So that thing is even worse than you imagine. Sure you could fix it, but I wouldn't want to tackle that without other pieces of a 32 5w coupe. I would like to find a 33/34 5w coupe body in that price range since I have around 1/2 of a 5w coupe in pieces. Everything I have bought on ebay has been a disappointment.

Got my bid ..would look great as a Planter next to the garage

  28. It will be interesting to see what the 5w goes for. I've had it on watch since the beginning, but now that all you sharks want it...

How about leaving it alone for the poor old retired guy who's just scraping by on a fixed income?

    Well.... could have happened.

I've got a 5w coupe body way better than that red p.os. laying in my yard with flowers planted in it . payed nothing for it because it's not worth fixing either . traded a junkyard powerglide for it . Good metal men have enough sense not to waste their time on junk like that .

Doent look any worse than this did 1 week ago. I myself love fixing stuff like this. it might not ever win the roadster show but it would be a great start to a real wild rod or just a good beater.
