I have a 54 chevy that I want to keep the vent tubes on. With the v8 in there it seems like those vent tubes will be liable to get nice n hot on summer days and warm up the cool air going into the cab. Anyone ever insulate or coat them at all? Any ideas?
I insulated the vent tubes on my 50 Sedan Delivery with the EZ Cool insulation that I sell. Kind of tricky to get in there but worked pretty good. Rolled up a piece that was too bit and stuck it in there, reached in and formed it to fit the tube, took a utility knife and reached in and cut through the overlaping parts then pulled it back out and taped it together with some aluminum tape. Slid back in like a hand in a glove. Not saying you need my stuff to do it but same technique should work with others products.
Depending on the diameter, you can buy pre-insulated vent tubing from an HVAC supplier. They use it for things like high velocity air duct systems.
