Anyone else have a garage mascot ?

I don’t know about a mascot; but this bastard keeps a close watch on this garage of mine.

This old feral has been hanging around the shop for 2-3 yrs.
Half his face is disfigured from scrapping. Scary looking but very social. It's 9 degrees as I took a picture outside of the garage as he was sunning himself. Yes you wonder how these animals survive.

I wish I knew how to make my dog enjoy hanging in the garage with me. I have a dog who is my constant companion around the yard, around the house, around the office (he's sleeping under my desk as I type) . . . but he HATES going in the shop or the garage. Something about the noises I make, I assume.

 

Man, that is not a mascot that is a fan club!! I am so envious.

 

Mr. FuKaDuk watches over my shop when I am away......his helicopter hat is really a secret weapon to kill unwanted intruders....

Our little guard dog follows me around the house, yard and garage. He does his “thing” when the UPS driver comes to deliver something. He has very good hearing for a 10 year old dog. When I am working in the garage, our present day guard dog wants to be around, but stays away from the big noises. When he hears something outside of the closed doors, he has a huge bark. He is very protective or really insecure…

Your dog is probably three times the size of ours and would probably chase ours down the street. The last time we had a different old dog back in the 1968, our friend brought his black Lab and a young Doberman for a beach walk.

The young, Dobie took off after our little guy, but did not catch him for the full distance to the water. The black Lab was a little better and made a new friend.

In the end, our old dog was happy and found a new best friend. That big black tail almost dug a hole in the sand, “wagging” so much. Our small, old dog was a true car/garage dog. He would jump up on the skinny, inside, rear panel of our El Camino and run back and forth. He would look out of the window like most dogs and lick the air. But, he loved being in the garage while I was working on our Harley or 40 Ford Sedan Delivery…something about the smell and atmosphere of the vehicles.

Our new/old guard dog is just happy to be with his pack and is our constant shadow. He loves riding around in our cars, but just knows when we are headed to the vet. That he does not like.

 

Murray hangs w/me in the 'hideout'. He doesn't mind the banging and grinding.

 

I have a few shop buddies. Three pure bred shepards. They like to lay around watching all the goings on in the shop. That is until they hear the gravel crunch in the driveway. If they dont know you its best to stay in the car. It amazes me how smart they are.

 

Gosh I love black German Shepherds. I want one, but my wife and I live in a tiny apartment in the city.

 

the pic above shows the mom on the right. the other dogs are two of her eight pups. there were three all black pups in the litter of eight. i kept a black male on the left. my son kept a black female. my daughters pup is the black and tan in the pic. Pretty shepards. There a cool dog for sure. I dog sat for a buddy for a few months, my wife feel in love with that breed.

This is our garage cat Kuuipo. She's a neighborhood cat that doesn't really belong to any one family. No one seems to know where she came from but she spends about 90% of her time at our house.She is relentlessly clingy. She loves being in the shop and little will chase her off. The welder or an angle grinder is about it. When you're working under the car she will climb on top of you and lay down. If you're rolling and scooting around she doesn't miss a beat and will just keep herself centered on top of you. She's like one of those lumberjacks that does the log roll. I'm not a cat person but she's a real sweetheart, hence her name.
