Anybody Remember Dixie Twister A/FX?

    Back in mid 70's I answered an ad in the Baton Rouge paper for a '67 Nova race car. It was called the Dixie Twister. The guy said it was driven from the dealer to the race car shop , completely gutted (no windows, crude tube chassis, etc.) and usually ran big block power with fuel injection. It had spindle mount Halibrands and was painted blue. He had a few pictures of it racing the Jegs speed shop car out of New Orleans. This was before bracket racing and the car was pretty much outdated to run competively.

    one of the platts had the dixie twister ....the only i have pics of is a updated to 65 nova....with fastback roof.....pretty sure it got balled up.....brandon:D

    Houston Platt........brother to Hubert "Hugh Baby" Platt......Houston was killed in that car.

    Looks like a Rambler Marlin roof line that was grafted onto the Chevy II.

    The crash was in 1967. Eleven spectators killed.
