any shaved 59' impalas?..Elkys?..

    i havent seen too many shaved 1s...most of em' keep the side molding and handles...even kustom 1s...i have seen maybe 1 or 2 others w/ no side molding...any pics?

    i sold the trim for $300 to a guy w/ an impala...that 59' imperial grille would look kick ass on ur 59'...or do u already have it..

    yeah..it won the CKD award @ the mooneyes show in japan..i didnt get to see the rear of the car...bad ass...thanx

    that chopped elky is crazy...too much chop...i haven't seen that impala for awhile...that chop looks just right...

    i think cuz the elky cab is way shorter so it looks more exaggerated...
     

  10. I have a nice Imperial grille. looking now for complete LH and RH Imperial headlight assemblies.
    Keep your eyes peeled for side trim.

    i really wanna get my hands on a imperial grille...i looked a while for a comet grille, but no luck...i'll b on the lookout for the side trim...

    This one belongs to my friend Laura. She shaved the handles and ADDED the side trim when she painted it. I think the trim adds to the whole look, IMHO.

    very nice...ever since i got mine i wanted to take the side trim off mainly because every1 i see has it....around here anyway...Bill Hines kept it on his Elky...the buddha buggy as well....

    i have 2 update that pic...i put on sum poppers and painted it hot rod flatz midnight blue..and took off the lake pipes cuz my girl kept burnin her leg...

    I think so, I got it off some show coverage on the hamb..
    the brown one(actually candy red) was done by bill cushenbery, photos are probably 1961, it was on the cover of car craft then.
    there are more shots of it on rik hoving(s) site

    my 283 needs rebuilding...it still ran good...a bit tired...its goin in my A...
     
  30. Here's mine from 1960-61. Drove it to school in Jersey during the week and ran it at the drags on Sunday. Olds grill, custom parking lights, chrome instrument panels and a Chrysler Purple paint job. At that time, if you ran without hub caps, everyone knew you had been to the track. Usually Island, but also York US30, and Atco. Jeez I was skinny back then.
