Used in the Northwest also. So is gully.

I do believe from back in my school days..... used commonly in text books pertaining to mapping.

Crik would be different. A draw doesn't have to have water running down it.

I sure learned a lot by posting this thread:
-The car in the draw is a 54 Chevy.
-People that "ain't from round these parts" talk funny.

Ya'll have been most helpful, and entertaining too.

    Thanks and Happy Trails ........................................

obviously y'all that never heard the term 'draw' have NOT read enough Louis Lamour novels.

  6. Around here we use all of the above expressions. Probably because most folks over the past 100 years came from somewhere else and brought their vocabulary with them. Gully, wash, draw, arroyo. Most of them don't have '54 Chevys in them though.

Cool, I get the first guess.....I'll say a 40 chevy 2 door and a 72 maverick 4 door! Both have been through at least 1 forest fire!!

In Montana, cars are found in ravines or coulees. Either which may have a small stream running through it. Gully is occasionally used, but I have never seen a wash. As for the last two cars we would refer to them as toast. Worth about $180 a ton here.
