Would like to see pictures of buicks. Might give me some ideas on these 53's I'm looking at. Heard those straight eights sounded pretty mean back in the day. any info on these engines would be appreciated. Thanks!

Wow, cool looking car, like the flames, is that a special? Does it still have all the original running gear? Thanks for your reply!

    Yeah, it's a special.
Still has the original straight 8. I don't know about them sounding mean though. Maybe with a split manifold and dual exhaust. When I got mine on the road and needed a muffler I replaced it with a glass pack thinking it would sound great. Unfortunately, it's pretty darn quiet. I started it without a muffler when I was in the middle of replacing it and then it just sounded like an old tractor!

Here's my '53. The straight 8's great, but as with any other car, if it hasn't been driven or maintained, expect some headaches! But that happens with any car. It's a great looking car though, so I'm powerless against it! Expect parts prices to be a little higher than more common cars. I have a '65 Mustang and a '65 Skylark and was in for a little sticker shock on parts. Mine's a Special hardtop. If you have any specific questions, be sure to post and I can share any experiences I've had with the car to help you out.

That looks great, perfect stance. The heavy ass grill laying on the ground looks great.

Heres mine over in the UK.
slammed on the floor, waiting for airbags, rewired to 12v, pertronix, electric fuel pump, electric wipers, electric windows, visor just being fitted, lakes to be fitted and then bubble skirted later this year.

With stock exhaust, the s-8 is quiet as a mouse. I had my exhaust off the other day and started it with nothing but the manifold. It sounded SO good! It's got me thinking.
