  3. I forgot to mention the front axle was a little bent at the end of the day, pretty sure I can straighten it out and run it for now but I will replace it with a drilled out stock Willys axle I have before I race it again.

  4. I'm sure not trying to be a smart ass, but have you checked that the fuel tank is venting properly at speed?

I recognize them bikes! Drove the truck that hauled 'em up and back. One is a '53 Triumph speed twin, other is a 43 Indian Scout Pony. Both 500cc. The Triumph is a fairly worn hemi, the Indian is a less worn flathead, so it all evened out. Both bikes ran in the low 13s, (missed shift here, engine trouble there, you know the drill).
I hope we're back to the quarter next year, but 1/8 is definitely better than up and down the driveway.

  7. 29bowtie.....Yes, tank has a big vented cap that works fine, I have a bigger aluminum tank that will be going in when I change out the fuel line. There are some fittings back there that look pretty restrictive. It basically has a 3/8 line to the front which I thought would be no problem on a 283 but I guess not. Anyway let's not turn Bob's thread into a trouble shooting session. Let's see some more pics, tons of cool machinery there.

Anybody know how 4bangertroy from Phoenix did? A black primered, red Kelsey'd, fenderless '30coupe with a vicious Model "A" banger. Troy, if you read this call me, I lost the last number of your phone number trying to text you yesterday... Damn technology!

Troy lost in second round. If I remember right, his times were in the 11.4 range.

    Bob,

I hope everything works out for you tomorrow.

I hope the picture taking fingers aren't involved.

  25. I was ripping some window trim pieces and pushed the piece through, turned the saw off, bent down to turn the crank to descend the blade not realizing my arm was falling towaed the blade and BAM,my fingers stopped the blade! If it was still running,I would have lost the tips of my index, middle and ring fingers.

I'm much better with metal than wood,haha...
