I went to the staging lanes for a pass about mid afternoon and I felt like I was in an oven. I feel for those guys that were wearing a fire suit.

And it continues, I thought that my truck sat to low before u should see it now. Somewhere along the line the front end came down another inch. Then in iowa we went over a bridge, heard a loud clunk and that's the sound of a rear broken shock. On the up side the jag rear has 2 on each side. Gonna limp home from Shakopee mn tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
On the up side I bought a spare hood at the drags. Still looking g for that elusive hood ornament.[IMG]

Met alot of people that I can now put a face together with a name. It was a blast and I hope to be back next year. No problems with it running like it was at the track.

I've seen many a shock break at the eye, but never like that.

I ran out of time before the drags to build a mount, but still plan on getting them on. I'll post a pic when I do.

There are three or four bridges on 35W North of Des Moines that have terrible approaches. I've learned over the years slow down a bit and shift a few feet to one side!

whenever i do a new car or truck for a customer -i usually weld up a solid coil over bar ??? just in case something happens on the road ? at least a guy can cripple in somewhere or home ? usually a new shock cannot be found anywhere on the road ?? & the 1 or 2 rods dont take up too much room hidden in the car or truck somewhere !

Made it home with the truck. Got a new shock in the back and I can drive the truck again. I figured out why the front dropped more. The bushing in the front shocks split, top and bottom. I have to call Heidts this morning to figure out why this happened.
When I got home I got in my new truck to go get parts, and I felt like I was a new driver again. I like driving my old truck though, makes me feel like I am driving.

carryallman, like your idea, and plan on building one.
