I was in seventh grade when I walked into Harrington's store in Orange, Massachusetts to buy the June, 1957 issue of Hot Rod magazine. I put a quarter on the counter and walked out with the magazine that I still have. I have so much enjoyed looking at pictures of this car since then and have really enjoyed following your reconstruction. Thanks for sharing your pictures. I hope you get to ride in it soon.

That is absolutely incredible!!! Those are the kinds of things I tried to convey to Uncle Ray, and his modesty, I believe, never allowed him to completely grasp the magnitude of his vision and roadster. Or maybe his modesty just never allowed him to show it. Thank you very much!!!

Though the angle is off a bit, its kinda fun to finally put a color to the black and white photos.

Anders you have some space on your dash for a few timing tags and of course an alliance tag...I take it thats what I see in your uncles car. Your ride is really coming together nicely. Congratulations.

LOL funny you should mention that. I believe the bottom left is a NHRA Kingdon Drag Race tag, Top left is 1955 Oakland Roadster show, next over is 1956 Oakland Roadster show, but the further right tags are still unknown so far. I may recreate them, but I havent decided on that yet.

Well, it's been a while since an update. I have the wiring about 90% complete, but it's actually complete enough to probably drive. Just a couple of small niceties to wire up like the heater switch, and trying to hide a power port somewhere under the dash. I also need to go buy a 5 pole trailer connector and hide that under the back of the car. Hope to bleed the master cylinder and the rest of the brake system tomorrow. Then on to finishing up the fuel tank. It's getting close to being roadworthy!! 2017-06-10_19.39.43.jpg 2017-06-10_20.57.37.jpg

Drove again to work, and took a gander on the lift. Pan is dragging quite a bit already. Going to build a new low profile pan with a skid plate...a must! Little by little working the kinks out.
