Not much more to look at. Wiring is done, gas pedal, brake pedal and master cylinder mounted. Waiting for calipers to be made to finish brakes. Upholstery appointment in about 3 weeks. Safety harness, blower restraint, and blower guard picked out and will be ordered Monday. Rear pig and driveshaft installed. More updates to come.
Made it to a test and tune last weekend. Easy launches 11.1 @ 125. Need a little more gear and hook up the transbrake. Through the stripe at only 4600 rpm at 125 mph. Car runs perfectly straight, no scooting around and straight while stopping. Never turned a wrench on the steering, suspension, or shocks. Did have to replace a failing coil though. Can’t wait for the next time out.
Sounds like you have it dialed in for the most part. Can't wait till it scares the beejesus out of you . Looks like you did a really great job, congratulations
Haven or Hell I guess that is really what building cars is like when you think about it! Great Name Jimbo
Will you have wheelie bars on it? It would seem that you stand a good chance of a huge wheelie (which is tough on frames and suspensions) - especially with a trans brake setup. Just curious your thoughts on it hooking up, tire compound, etc..
Yes it has wheelie bars on it. Just soft launches for now. Once I get more seat time in it I can worry about wheelies. I have a video on facebook, but do not know how to transfer it here. I will ask my boy how to do it.
I want one. Ford power tho... but yeah totally want one! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Made it out once more. Easy launches,2000-2100 rpm and shifting at 5000. 10.52@131. Still have more left. Ran and drove great. Next year should be a good one. Will turn the wick up in the spring!
Nice man, it looks like a walk in the park for it, low rpms, soft launch, no dancing and plenty more left in it, congratulations.
