Frank was teaching the class, with a few assistants who got us into the cars, etc. I thought it was a good class. He talked about lots of interesting things, about how humans do things, etc. In addition the the driving tips.

Some years back, I had a fairly large adjustable crescent wrench, that the screw adjuster turned the opposite direction of every adjustable wrench I've ever had; a "left handed monkey wrench" if you will. I'd be under a car, trying to adjust the thing, and it was plain frustrating. I finally decided it was't worth the trouble, and I wound up giving it to a friend who was a lefty; he was born with a birth defect of his right arm, and his right arm was pretty much useless. Never seen another adjustable wrench like that one..... I think squirrel should have his own tool brand.

Years ago a guy I worked with showed me an adjustable wrench like you describe. Said it came in a tool kit in a Volvo he had. Maybe its a Swedish thing?

  6. I have a set of 3 of them I bought to carry on my tractor. They came from Harbor freight. I think the 5 year old chinese kid at the factory screwed up.

Jim, they don't like to be called jigs anymore. They have feelings. Call them fixtures.

I got some stock (MP) aluminum heads. 496 with an 8-71 is the current plan. No, it won't keep up with yours!

  21. Do you have a certain wheelbase in mind Jim, or are you going to sort of play it by ear as the saying goes.

Yup. It's gonna be fun! long ways to go still.

I have been building the frame. Here are most of the pieces mocked up. I'm building the main sections, then will put them all together. And buying parts...according to my spreadsheet, this car will cost a lot! but it should be money well spent, since, you know, there's a Hemi sitting there.

I tip my hat to you, sir. :D

So my guess is the Hemi is the biggest part of the parts bill.

The mill will cost less than the rest of the car....but not by much.

OK, I gotta ask, what's with the score board in the man cave? That El Mirage Barracuda is definitely a "one off" car, and I did't see the luggage rack (spoiler) as the rest of the car stands out so much. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
