Advice needed 1931 Fordor

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 13, Nov 12, 2009.

  1. Is there any difference between a standard 1931 fordor & a slant-window fordor in regards to the subrails? Dumb question I know, but nevertheless I need it answered before I spend some money on subrails. Thanks all...

  2. on the standard the subrails are all wood, the slant it's steel

  3. I took apart a square-window fordor and it had what was left of steel subrails, I think it's the 4-window sedan that has wood subrails. Best bet is to get a repro catalog and see what it shows you (snyders and macs will both mail you one free).

  4. In that case, since I have a 31 fordor sedan, will the metal subrails off of the slan-window work? I'm just tryin to figure out how to get that fordor body mounted on my chassis. Right now, the body has nothing under it

    no

the restorers say to stay away from the wood framed bodies.
they say you will never get all the doors to close right
