I have many ol cars with bolted in front crossmembers. The bolts dont fill the holes like the rivets do. This leaves the crossmember loose and as it wiggles around, it eats up the shank of the bolts and wallows out the holes

I didn't want to rebuild the steering box unless it really needed it.

I was pretty sloppy, but I following the directions here....

    http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_steerngear_adjstmt1937-48.htm

I removed two shims to tighten the worm shaft endplay.

Then, I turned two positions on roller shaft adjusting screw.

It's pretty darn tight now, and smooth, lock to lock.

  18. Theres an AMC master cylinder that is just like the late 60's mustang, except the ports are on the other side... which would have been easier to plumb, I used the same MC as you. I didn't find out about the AMC until after I was done.

Nice pictures of the wood installed. I didn't realize how much wood was used to mount the cab.

    Brand new.

I just couldn't get all the rust out of the stock tank, and a new one
    was only 199 bucks.

I pulled a muscle in my back last week, so I decided to work on gauges this week (light duty)

This Frankenstein cluster is composed of 85 Ford truck gauges, a brand new
Stewart Warner electronic speedometer, and new vinyl decal gauge faces.

The NV3500 transmission that I plan to use only has electronic output.

I'm embarrassed to say how much time that I have wrapped up in making
everything fit/work, but I think that the final result looks really nice.
