I know this will have somewhat of a limited market, but what the hell...... So, I've been struggling to find a way to mount the rear end of my 51 hydramatic in my Model A. I just couldn't get a straight answer from anyone about finding a stock type mount (a downside to living in the UK) Then I noticed on a shelf in my garage an unused VW front gearbox mount... A heavy duty CB Performance Rhino mount...it's pretty much a perfect fit You can see that the yellow pad is flush With the Ali surround on 3 sides, so I cut those 3 edges back, Then it bolts right up.... This was really holding me up, now I can sort out the chassis mount and press on... Thought it might help someone someday... James.. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
A good solution. If you plan on a tailshaft mount though, make sure you have a mount midpoint on the engine. You don't want your engine/transmission mounts at extreme ends of each other. Also... Kanter Auto. 1949-69 Cadillac transmission mounts. Both styles available: http://www.kanter.com///productdeta...0&Vdr=&Itm=&MDv=1&MDpt=0&MSb=0&Cat=55&Prc=235
