Wow! How many hours do you have in her so far? I follow this one with close interest. I love to something done outside the norm.
i honestly have no idea,,,,,just glad i'm not paying someone to do it, , ,
Did you really come all the way back around to the beginning and put shoebox headlight caps back on?
I have pulled this up for friends and they absolutely cannot figure out the make of this car.
Hope you keep your garage gnomes well fed and warm. Looks like they'll be grinding on all those welds for awhile. wow!
Getting closer! How much more welding?
im impressed with all the old sheet metal you come up with!! id hate to track that stuff down and then go..... nope that looks stupid matt try again looking gooood
Is that tape outline the makings of a plexi bonnet insert???? Because that would only 'RULE'!!!!!
Looking great as always!
haha,,,yup,,,,i really did,,,considered quads (58 lincoln), but in the end i liked these best,,,BUT i have plans for them,,,,they wont be completely stock looking of course..
lol...most people can't..
yeah, , ,the GRINDING, , ,definitely NOT looking foward to that,,and i thought the welding was tedious,,,,
definitely getting closer, but still quite a bit.
i save everything matt, , ,seriously, i have a big pile of scrap, , , i especially save stuff with compound curves..
i was planning a pancaked hood actually, but i may have to give that some thought,,,hmmmm
yep same here.. i have a pile of old hoods...i want too clean stuff up but i might need that little corner piece one day..
wow! Are you planning on losing the bottom rear portions of the Olds quarters?
no, those are gonna be my exhaust ports,,,they needed to be sectioned though, they hung down about three inches too low,,,i did the one on the drivers side, still need to do the other..
How's the welding tan coming along .....
go man go ...
He is actually going to build a mild shoebox custom out of this car and that is the first step.
This cars awesome man. Ive admired this thing since ive joined. Too cool.
Hehe, are you building it back to a shoebox again Jim?
looking great as always!
lol,,,,,,maybe, , , i did save all the metal i cut off..
You are definately not a man afraid of the metal. I like where this is going, keep up the good work!
likewise,,,,,,your project kicks major ass!
I have to make the trek out to Jersey to see this in real life! It blows my mind!
Man that car is just outstanding. It has a Metz feel to it big time.
I'm just worried that you're going to have it finished and painted and realize there was something you did on one side that you didn't do on the other.
Keep up the good work!
then i'll just say,,,,it's SUPPOSED to be asymmetrical....yeah, that's it...
Hahahahahahah! Makes anything I've ever done look stock restored lol!
Great work bro!! That's a whole lot of welding
I really can't wait to see it finished!! Great lines!!
Lookin cool, Jim.
Do you have a recent front 3/4 shot you can share?
i'll put one up soon,,,the car is in kinda tight quarters right now,,,can't really get a good angle for a front end pic,,,,
