Would have liked to have these up sooner but it took us 17 hours to drive home to Portland yesterday. We spent several hours along old Highway 99 looking for old neon signs to photograph so it was a fairly slow trip. The show was great, tons of nice cars, loads of great people, and thanks to everyone who came by our booth. Can't wait for next year.
Very nice pictures, thanks for the post. Now lets see some pix of those "old signs" you took pictures of.
I'll try and get ahold of the owners and get the brand name... I forgot it. But the back story is... a couple of aircraft workers from WWII started the company in 1947. They used their experience building bombers to build the trailers. They also used "borrowed" material from their old place of employment. All of the aluminium in the trailer is aircraft grade, and riveted together. They only made a couple hundred of them before they got caught stealing materials and the company was shut down.
Choptop - Thanks for the history on the trailer. It had to be one of the nicest vintage trailers I've ever seen. The restoration was amazing. The brand is Aero Flite and the trailer was purchased new from a dealer in Bend, Oregon named Wilshire.
I just looked through the rest of my photos and I don't have any more shots of this one. Hopefully somebody else has more shots of it.
I believe the Boling Brothers (sp) built this truck, there out of Fresno or that vicinity. I talked to the guy at the last Paso, I think they also just built a sweet little modified.
This truck was for sale on Ebay about 1-2mos ago. I had some more pics of it, but they may have been deleted. It was boling bros. who were selling it.
