On what would have been his 60th birthday, the widow of Randy Perez threw a little party. Many of the cars that he built, that went on to new homes, returned for the event, and impressive ones out on the street. There were some impressive OT ones there, too, but I left those out. Randy even appeared as a cookie! The bomb on the pedestal contains his ashes.
RIP Hamber Randy...I shared his wild Roadster here and yes he was an Artist...a moving Tribute to a great man... Thanks for sharing the celebration @gimpyshotrods...
A Fireman too, if I'm not mistaken...A Hero...and a Hotrodder/Customizer and gone much to early...High Fives Randy
It still gets to me knowing that Randy is no longer with us. Nice that his family had a little get together to remember him. Everything he touched instantly turned cool. I miss seeing the "new" cars he'd roll out every now and then. When he passed away, I started a thread here on the HAMB to let everyone know the sad news and how we had lost a good dude. Here's a link to that write-up. Lots of great pictures and commentary from many people who knew him. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/randy-perez-aka-randingo8-rest-in-peace.1147993/ Randy is gone, but far from forgotten. Rest in peace, Amigo..........E
@gimpyshotrods - Wow, I just came across this thread ... what a small world! ... I was there that July afternoon ... visiting my brother (who lives in our childhood home in the next court over from Randy & Madelynn's house) ... and dropped in "to pay my respects" ... wish now that I would have introduced myself. NOTE: That red Deuce Roadster is one of @fremont32's cars ... he's owned it since '59 or '60 … Here it is (in black lacquer) nose-to-nose with our Deuce 5wd Coupe:
Really cool tribute to a talented builder! The cleanness of his builds really shows. The Rambler Wagon & the Dodge Pickup do it for me. God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ar-transport-hauling-open-or-enclosed.614419/
