I have about 70 brand new clutch discs and pressure plates. (140 pieces) They are no good without a catalog telling what the part numbers are. Been on the shelf in the auto store since the 80's and now they are in my shop. I am thinking there are some oldies in there, but without a catalog-? I have not been able to find anything online concerning "A-1 Clutch" I know there is an old catalog out there somewhere Thanks
Thanks Jandlcars. RustyNYer, nothing on Rock Auto, A1 cardone does not do clutches. I know there is a catalog out there, I just need to find it and then it will be.... CLUTCHES FOR ALL!!
I see some of the boxes look to have 6 digit part #s ,those as I recall are Borg numbers. The 5 digit ones are Long I believe. Perfection used 3 and 4 digit numbers with a CA or CD prefix. Don't have any old clutch catalogs ,sorry.
Thanks all, here are a few part numbers, some plates and some covers p48609 p48604 p281228 p381034 x260263 x47236 m360023
Those 5 digit ones may be import. One cover in the picture in your first post looks like a import style. Ya had here in PH I could probably ID a good share of them by measuing and looks.
Tomorrow I will have a couple different GM flywheels, a ford and maybe more, plus a few input shafts, from a friend of mine. I am gonna open boxes, find any matches, and scrap the rest. Easy come, easy go. Thanks for the help.
maddog, the parts store I retired from still has a paper catalog for a-1.......PM me a list and i will go down and ID them for you... Easier than opening them up and trying to match them up,..... Dave
281228 9-1/16" x 1-1/16" spline disc 381034 8-1/2" x 1-1/16" spline disc 360023 8-1/2" dia pressure plate These are from the 1993 Borg Warner clutch book. If they are the same, maybe I could help. If not, you might want to see if there's a clutch rebuilder that wants some of them?
I found an A1 clutch & brake in Kentucky A-1 Clutch Rebuilder 2911 Coral Ridge Rd Brooks, KY 40109 502-957-2029 and if that don't help you might try an independent parts store for any cross reference. I hate tossing good parts out just because I don't know what they fit.
Holy cow!! What a score that would be. In my searching I was at a small store specializing in 55-72 Chevys, picking up a light switch for a 57 wagon I am rewiring and I thought to ask there. He tells me " Oh yeah, A1, my buddy has a stack of them and same thing, cant find part numbers" This will be worth some $$ for you. assuming I can sell them, and I think I can. I will make the list tomorrow. This is great news, I hated thinking of scraping a few hundred pounds of new clutches, made in USA. As for the guy at Mikes Chevy, I will wait till I flood the market with clutches before passing the numbers onto him. The Hamb does it again, with your help Dave. Thanks.
