Anything is possible, but... By the time you got everything fabricated to work, you could have put in a mustang II and been driving.
A friend of mine put camaro(early) spindles and upper control arms on a 41 chevy convertible. He used the 41 lower control arm, but I could not see how he put the camaro lower ball joint in the arm.He made brackets for the upper arm,and used shims for alignment just like the camaro. It looks to me that he bolted everything together, with very little welding.
Any thing is possible. Front geometry is very complicated and if improperly setup will result in an illhandling and frequently dangerous ride. One should consider bump steer, ackerman, roll center, ride height and several other parameters. It is a good idea to invest in some front end geometry soft-ware and model the geometry before the build. There are lots of combinations that are possible if you properly design them. Good luck.
49-54 spindle supports will fit on a 48 Chev front end and lower it a couple of inches. Just like factory Fatman spindle supports. 55 up have a completely different suspension design.
