  3. Here's a link to a web page with a copy of a trouble-shooting handbook I have used I the past:

Here's a few places that rebuild upper limit switches:
Brewer Classic Lincoln - John Brewer

Here's a link to a web page from Certified Rebuilders showing how to remove/replace and adjust the upper limit switch

Bob's Bird House also rebuilds the switches as well as the gearboxes: pricing is similar for the one from Certified Rebuilders for the switch. I've known Bob since the late '80s and can recommend him.

As for the gear box, Bob's offers them rebuilt as an assembly with the motor, but I don't know about including the limit switch: for $1900 I would think it would be included.

And if you want to say "screw it" to originality and go with more-contemporay components, John Draxler at Thunderbird Ranch in WI has this:

looks very interesting, but I've never seen one installed in person (yet). John's very good to deal with - he used to be VTCA's 64-66 Tech Editor back in the '80s, and has an excellent reputation (but may be a little slow to respond).

I believe all the major vintage T-bird vendors offer rebuilt flipper lid gear boxes including Concours Parts & Accessories in NV; Thunderbird Headquarters in Concord, CA; Larry's T-bird & Mustang in CA; The Bird Nest in the Portland, OR area.
