Well, Ive been lurking for a few years, figure I'll try to actually contribute something rather than just read what everyone else is doing!

This car is almost done now, and I had a buildup thread going on Frieburgers website, but I was told I should post it up here, as you guys might appreciate it too. This project started about 2 years ago, and is finally rolling into the final stages.

Heres some pics from the beginning, the car came out of Colorado Springs and was fairly solid. The car was bead blasted, front framehorns cut off, and replaced with boxed tubing to hold the narrowed A100 axle. The pics show the rear being split and relocated. For the front fenders, we ended up cutting/splicing the steel ones, rather than buying the fiberglass ones.

    Anyway heres some pics...

The work looks clean; a little different than how I 've seen it done in the past. Old, narrowed A-100 axle? You might consider some new tube if you're going to run it hard. Since you've been lurking a while I'll spare you posting pics of my '66 stretched nose Dart. I'm building all new fenders, hood, doors, etc in prepreg carbon just because that's what I do.
Good luck with it! My friend Howie is working on his second '65 Dodge AWB car. I'm hoping we can get enough of these things going that someday we can actually have a real match race at some nostalgia event.
Oh, heck, the rest of the post finished loading after I posted. It's a street car; I didn't realize that at first.

Alright, whew, that was alot of pics...

This is where the car sits now. The only things left are the fuel system, and wiring/computer for the EFI. We went with EFI as the car is going to be driven on the street, alot. The engine is a std bore 426, 12.5:1, with ported iron heads, and an old racer brown flat tappet. Its got a 727, with a 10" 4200 stall convertor, and 4.30 gears in the rear.

    Frieburgers website is www.bangshift.com

Thanks guys for the kind words! Hopefully, if someone else is thinking of chopping up some old sheetmetal to make an AFX clone, this will give them an idea of whats involved.

How many seconds do you think it'll be on the road before you get pulled over?

This one is living in Detroit now, I live here in Colorado Springs, this one was built for my dad, who lives out in Michigan.

One of these days I'd love to come up that way and check out some cars though. I transplanted out here to Colorado a few years ago, and have been having a hard time finding Mopar people!

The old man already has trouble with his other cars getting unwanted attention... this one should really make the police happy!

  28. Your one saving grace could end up being that the car looks so fuckin good! Seriously, it's beautiful. I also love the fact that you kept the single master cylinder!
