My son is set on using the 59 caddy lights. Any ideas on where to mount them. I thought about fabbing some arms and cans and hanging them on the bed. Thanks
HMMMM! maybe find or make some bullet shaped buckets a little bit begget around than the lights and hang em down off the bottom corner of the bed. OR... hang em under the tailgate (two on each side). maybe even in a rolled pan if your going to build one. now that i think about it i think i like the more subtle idea of mounting them under the bed. you could still build some type of "pod" to mount them to and hang them from. just some thoughts... i like the truck by the way. we;ll hae to try and get together since your only 5 hours away. Mike
Just saw your pickup photo come up...58 Chevy tailights look good mounted under the bed on these pu's...still have bullets but they aren't soooo long. Shorter lenses match the lines on this pu better (IMHO).
I thought about seeing if an exhaust man cold form a 3" pipe down to a point. I'm not sure if the forming machinery can even reduce the pipe OD. I have also seen where some custom guys sell bullets. The Caddy lights would fit nicly in a 3" tube. I'm sure there's something that would work. Maybe even some spotlight housings.
the ones he is talking about were just two lenses i believe. Impalas had three, the cheaper models had two. is that Hilsdale MICHIGAN or INDIANA?? my wife is from Roanoke IN, just south of FORT WAYNE. oh yeah. i also have a box full of 60 Corvette lenses that are a short bullet. they would look cool frenched slightly into a roll pan. i don't want to sell them all but i would sell you 4 of em for that ride if you wanted. $5 each. the last pair i sold went for $28 on Ebay
