Joe ordered the new gasket from Macs and when we went to install it today, the channel for the stainless trim only goes half way around. Our trim runs all the way around the window. Macs also lists a gasket for a Ranchero/Wagon and Fairlane models but I understand the Fairlane models to have a different windshield. Anyone else have this problem or anyone have the gasket we need?????????????????? Thanks, were in a huge rush and need any help we can get.
Dennis Carpenter and Mac's are giving me conflicting part numbers. Mac's is telling me I need B7A-6403110-A, while Carpenter is saying I need B7A-7003110-C. Can someone elaborate? I'm thinking that Mac's mislisted the part since ours doesn't fit.
What model car do you have? Post car or Hardtop? I'm trying to recall, but I think Hardtop trim goes into the gasket only at the bottom. maybe the sides too. That rubber wouldn't fit easily on a post car window, as they are different heights..
I've got a Custom 300 2 door sedan. It's a post car, model 70B. There is stainless that goes all the way around the windshield
The 2 door post will have the same windshield rubber as a Ranchero & station wagon... they are all 300 series and have a higher (larger windshield)... I could look up the part numbers tomorrow if you still need them but the simple test is to place windshied rubber around the windshied... the 500 series will be to short
The windshield rubber fits the windshield, but maybe we stretched it to get it to fit? 7003110-C is the one we need I am almost 100% certain. Dennis Carpenter lists that as the correct one, while Macs lists the 6403110-A as fitting converts, Fairlanes, and hardtops as well as the 300 series which we know is wrong. Then Macs also lists the 7003110-C as fitting the 300 series cars.
I doubt you'd be able to stretch a 500 gasket, over a 300 winsheild. What body style and trim level of car are you working on?
