Very cool and refreshingly different .I have always loved 57-58 Plymouths and the 1/4's are the greatest part IMO .Please post more pics as it comes along .Great work so far ...

  3. Very cool! I really appreciate the late 50's Mopars. have been toying with an idea similar to this for some time. great start, can't wait to see the finished car! :D

yea, seein that mill sitting there between the rails, the cowl needs pinched a bit... 4" each side maybe?

but, depending on how you bring the grill and headlights in, it might tie together OK...

You dont know how much i would love to do this to an old junker, making it into something totally badass like you our doing! Problem is id be to afraid to fuck up hahah! Badass concept though, it looks tough as nails! Pinch the cowl a bit to get a better effect, it just looks way to wide IMO. Especially after seeing the engine between the rails.Maybe narrowing the whole body about 4 inches down the middle would be a better deal. Not trying to cause any hardship for you, just want you to be happy with your rod! if you put a elephant motor between em it would make the cowl more proportionate! Just joshing, lol. Are you gonna run hood and sides or just a grill? Have you checked out the El camino being built up into a crazy little creation like yours? Its also balls to the wall awssome! He even kept the damn roof on it! Ill find the thread and post it up on here for you!

I would agree with Fiddy. Waiting for the grill shell to be created but it looks wide.

  8. Simple solution to the width issue would be to use a wider engine....like a Hemi ! ! !
Also, a full hood top will help mask the cowl width. Possibly run the hood all the way to to the base of the windshield, in the style of the early 30's Mopars.

  9. Needs to get pinched for sure. Cool idea, just needs a little tweaking.

I'm feeling one of those square-ish Chrysler steering wheels in that thing. Nice work!

    Awesome build!

  12. A hood top tapering into the Hawk grill with vertical quad headlights built into each side....very 60's...very cool.

Got a little bit done this weekend. Built the rear crossmember and got it welded in. Only lacking shock mounts for the rear suspension now. I think when I pull the body off the frame I might add some lightening holes on each side of the crossmember as it looks a little thick on each side.

Also decided the front rails were just to plain looking as they were. So I cut some reliefs and swept the front rails up just a bit, cut a v notch and leveled them back out. Then I cut out a 1" taper. Still need to cut the taper on the passenger side rail and spend some time welding and grinding.

Wait, you're building this without a Hemi?

    :D

Amazing metal work. It looks like your vision is working out nicely. Dress up that small block real nice and it'll do. :)

Looking good, I like the rear susp set up. Looks good with the engine and front end mocked up.
