Gotta take more pics, but this bad boy arrived today. Just needs the windshields put in and brakes to be road ready, and then all the rest is just hop ups. Will be flooding the board with questions I'm sure.

Looks great. Still got the original six in it?

I had a 1955 Plymouth I drove as my daily driver for 9 years. Not one single problem. Great solid car.

    Congrats!

Yup, I cannot believe how good a shape it is in. Starts easy, and despite looking like the exhaust needs a full replacement, it runs smooth. I'm gonna soup it up a bit, but probably not until this summer is over.

  9. Nice. A TN poor boy has the same car in the same color and runs it all over. It is also really solid and sweet looking going down the road.

If I can get the car on the road by then I will try to make it, always down to meet some new folks. And it did go down the driveway real nice, and I was able to stop it with the E-brake literally 6 inches before I crashed through the fence, so that was a plus.

Powerflow was the Six. . You can see by the hood ornament. The six has a straight line.... V8 has a "V".

What body style is it? Manual or Powerflite? Plaza, Savoy or Belvedere?

I think that everything is a little more of a pain in the neck in Brooklyn. Potholes, traffic, higher insurance, lights every block, more idiot drivers per square inch. But I do live in a sort of suburban area of Brooklyn out in the boonies, so parking isn't a problem, and I have a few roads where I can let her rip.

What is the group's actual name, joined the builder's group and the old mopar group, didn't see anything else relevant.

I asked for the specific model gasket, hopefully that is what shows up. Supposed to be coming today. Meanwhile I got to figure out the brake situation. Seems like it is gonna be a rear drum rebuild, front disk conversion, just trying to figure out the most efficient way to gather all the parts.

Instead of spending money on the rear brakes you might consider swapping to a newer axle, either drum or disc and lose the tapered axles. You also get a better e-brake.

In terms of the work involved though, that seems more comprehensive and time consuming, especially considering that I am a newcomer to the car world. For the moment, I just want to get the brakes set up as quickly as possible so I can ride a bit for the summer. I will definitely add that to the "big project" list though, sounds like it would make everything a lot more convenient to repair.
