Heres my 5 year project, here in NZ we have pretty strict compliance laws so its taken alot of work to get to this point to keep all their b/s in mind, plus it's my first project with serious mods so ya know, a bit slow on it sometimes, but I've done it all myself so far.

    Clipped and zeed 2"
    Tri 4 bar
    Bagged
    350 chev
    Notched
    Raised tunnel
    Floor and seat mods

  7. Very cool, and a 5 year project is not that long in the whole scheme of things.

I had a '55 ranch wagon that got slammed when I was a kid. it did not look nealry as nice as yours, of course I slammed mine into a tree, damn the luck I really liked that car.

You done good, nice little ford.

  8. I Love long roofs and yours is a beauty,I am aware of the laws in NZ and how much red tape is involved in making modifications.

    The wagon looks great. HRP

  11. Oldsoul its true. Took out the complete drivers quarter from the back of the door to the tail light.

Mine was never nearly as nice as the OPs but it was a lot of fun. I could probably write an entire post about Wilbur and the '55 Ranch wagon but I am afraid it would get deleted.

Rancho tell me is it a Y block wagon or an inline? Looks good but I am nosey. Uh never mind just looked at the pics closer. All I looked at at first was the stance.

  12. It really looks strange to see the master cylinder on what we consider the passenger side of the car. HRP

  14. Great looking long roof.

I remember the first times I read about the tough build laws down there and thought man that's too bad for you guys. But with some of the shit boxes I see rolling around here sometimes I'm starting to think some sort of safety type build laws wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Thanks for the kind words guys, well most of you anyway.

    Bit of background:

The p/o bought the car with the intention to fix er up and flick er on. Turns out the motor was smokey, brakes were shot, the boot floor had rusted right out and then sandwiched with fibreglass. The front x member had the typical mid fifties ford full rust out. He chopped the front off, sourced the replacement clip and thats as far as it got. It sat for a couple of years and I took it off his hands for what I now realise was too much, oh well.

This is my second American car, I have seen one other on the road here, although I hear there may be one or two more than that. My first yank tank was a '55 Chev Bel Air 4 door that I sold to buy this, I needed something to chop up and it wasn't rare enough haha

Chev over Y block? It came with the chevy, the Y block was gone. Eat a dick.

A few more pics of the build, raised engine to remedy pinion angle from the big drop, hence the raised tunnel too. Seats still ride ok just don't sit in the middle :)

I come and go, it was a particularly frustrating day working on it and I listed it haha. Ive just putmso much work in its hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel sometimes, its at a stage it'll be an easy project for someone now.
