Apparently the back seat (bottom) flips forward then
(the back) folds down(if that makes sense).
Problem is I can't figure out how to release
the seat so the bottom flips forward. Your
    help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

From what I remember there is not a release on the seat bottom it just yanks up. The seat back cushion may be preventing you from pulling it up. There is a metal rod that is attatched to the seat bottom and after you get the seat up it swings around the seat and becoms a leg for the seat to rest on. The seat back snaps into two clips on each wheel well that yanks out also. Good Luck.

No latch on my '55 Chevy 2 door.
You have to pull up the seat base from the back, It takes a good yank to get it started (ha - yea I know). You might want to squirt a little penetrating oil in the front hinge if its hindering movement or been sitting a while. Remember, It's heavy wood and steel seat, not like a new Honda.

Once you do that, pull the seat back down out of its catch.

    Hope it helps.
