55 chevy gen light

hey guys , how do I get the stock dash gen light on a 55 chev to work with a 1-wire alt

 

convert the alternator back to 3 wire mode. some of the 1-wire regulators are easily switched back, if that's what you want.

 

Have to use the 3 wire mode. Hot wire from ign switch to Gen light then to terminal 1 on the alternator.

 

You could use one of Ron Francis' low voltage sensors to work the light, if you really want to stick with one of them one wire things.
