I just acquired this 55 capri from a fellow hamber and I plan too do a mild custom too it, i know some might bash on the color but it all original and a clean example with a 341 Y block.

I plan too do the following too her
    1. Drop blocks in back / cut springs in front
    2. Different hubcaps
    3. Badges gone/ shaved doors etc....
    4. Better carburetor
    5. Remove wipers/put bullet covers on
That's all for now. Better pics too come

Love the car, love the color, love your plans for it. Those cars looked custom from the factory, and what you're planning to do sounds great!

Screw anybody that makes fun of that color, its straight-up 1950's. That's one clean machine and you enjoy the hell out of it.

  9. My Brain always lights up when I see "Mild" and "Custom" somewhere in the same neighborhood. The car looks great to begin with. Congratulations, and please do continue with progress photos.......Centurion9

Wow, I had the good fortune to drive my Dad's Capri when I was in high school in the late 50's. (same color as yours but all one color) THe two toned leather interior was beautiful. We had it nosed, decked, (following an accident I had) lowered and full skirts. My Dad set the standard for me at a young age. He traded a 54Merc std/OD that I thought was fast at the time. Your on your way and I'm jealous.

    That car is awesome.

Im a custom guy, but damn, all I would do to it is lower it.

That car just flows well as is.

Not to mention its freakin' nice.

They had a mild custom look from the factory. I dig it. Always been one of my favorite 50s cars.

If you lower the front you can buy the aerostar springs and I think its part# moog pn 850 and it will lower it a couple inches.

Love it, I'd drive it just as it is let alone as a mild custom!

Car looks good. Hope you bring it to the Roundup...I would love to get a closer look.

Also, you should post some pix of the interior....that's one of the best pattern and overall schemes ever produced

Nice Linkuhn...the mods you have planned will keep it clean, but don't quite understand why anyone would remove the wipers and replace them with bullets...that tells me four things...1). It never rains (or snows) in Austin. 2). You have no plans to EVER drive it in the rain, (or snow). :D 3). You never venture outside your zip code simply because you have no windshield wipers. 4). Rain-X works well when you are moving at least 30 mph...under that it doesn't.

    EVERY kustom I've ever built has windshield wipers...and I use Rain-X a lot. :cool::cool::cool:

  27. That looks just like my wife's car. We are going to do a few mild custom things to hers also. It is to much pink for her. We are going to leave some pink in it because her interior is perfect. It is black, white, and pink.
