Yea, I didnt build this truck, got it on a trade....I think whoever built it just used what they had...I lke it.
Here is my 58 I`m just getting started and have a long list of thing to do.So far I have it up and running I built a 383 backed for up by muncie 4 spd. I have new harness stainless mirrors new oke bed wood w/ stainlees strips. for once I get the inside of the bed done then its off to the body work Looking at the photos here is sure giving me some Idea`s as to the look I want to get to someday.
todays picture. I've been working on mine a bit lately, for a change. (second one from the left is my son's)
I've owned this since '80. 350/350, 72 Cutlass clip, PS, PDB, AC, lowered rear springs, Americans. Took it apart to re-do and it set until the last couple years. Back on the front burner after the big retirement move to the mountains. Bad pics; just threw it together for the move.
I have a front 3/4 view of this truck taped to the windshield of my '55 for inspiration on the ride height. It's perfect. All I have right now is the cab and bed apart next to the bare frame. My new girlfriend saw it all torn apart, and, while a bit surprised by the lengths I went to for disassembly, she's diggin' the hell out of it and is willing to try to help me get it done in time for the Spring Drags in Mount Vernon, Ohio in May. I have noticed that the lower front fenders on many of these trucks are rough, whether rusted or badly repaired. Mine is no exception, suffering from both. And even California trucks rot, mine has cowl rot and Swiss cheese in the floor where the gas tank was (55+ years of shit was accumulated under the tank).
It's my avatar... in progress, hoping for summer cruising. My second one, sold the first one and realized later shouldn't have...
