Its been a busy week with Ole Brown: We did a little Y block research and discovered we have the 239 powerhouse. LOL We went ahead and did a little carburetor upgrade while we were playing, The radio delete looks great. After throwing hubcaps every 30 minutes, they had to go. We went to dog dish and they seem to hold on. Picked up some Bluetooth stuff for tunes and will wire it when we get to wiring up the turn signals. Installed a hidden fuel gauge in the glove box for the time being. More to come!

you may have a problem with the intake as to port size and match.I would do a gasket match before tearing into it use the 239 gasket.that looks like a 259 merc or 272 or larger ford intake as 239 did not come with a 4 barrel

It lined up pretty well. We used the best fitting gaskets. We will watch it for any leaks but none yet.

Today we made some additional progress. Since it appeared magical forces un-wired the turn signals and disconnected the speedometer from the time it left Maryland to the time it got to Atlanta, we went ahead and took care of that. The Speedhut GPS speed box, which I have used before, was installed to run the factory speedometer and we went ahead and finished wiring the turn signal switch. Great stuff. I think we will move to tunes next.

Does this ever have any glitches or anything? I have never even heard of one before.

I put one on my 67-72 Chevrolet truck. The connection point at the back of the speedo is finicky. You cant tighten it or it binds. i trimmed it a bit but it didnt help. I have to keep it finger tightand adjust twice a year. No issues on the Ford though yet.

The '54 arrived last week. It landed on a windy, cold night here in Sacramento.
I'm giving it a name: El Duende / The Goblin. It's low, loud, brown, and makes people stare.

Funny I haven't been on here for awhile either. That car is really making its rounds and it looks great. When I got it was in Chicago. I know before that it was from Georgia. Since the paperwork was from there.

Sometime in 2009 when I owned it. It would hardly run when I got it and the rear was trashed. Added pertrionx ignition and a new/used rear from an automatic 54. The 3.31 gears made much better to drive. Sad thing is I don't know why I sold it.
