Hey H.A.M.B., Can anyone tell me if I should be using a longer slip yoke to compensate for suspension travel on a 4-link setup? The common (cheaper) slip yoke is 5-1/2” from end to center of U-joint. About 3-1/2” of splined slip shaft. There are longer ones available but at a significantly higher cost. Pinchin pennies as I have an really long parts list. If it matters, the trans is a Saginaw 4 speed. Gambino’s extreme air ride setup. Thanks for any input Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
Not a problem in dirt track set ups. We use 8-9" yokes and have a hell of a lot of movement on the rear. You tube a IMCA modifieds rear end movement. Saginaws, especially 3speeds were choose of transmissions years for them and stocks. Speedway and other dirt track suppliers sell them. Set up the drive shaft length for the fartherest the yoke will be going in.
Hell with their bag on axle kit, your 6-8"" maximum suspension travel on a 4 link the pinion is flat. It maybe moves the driveshaft 3/4" worst case from lock to lock. I think you are completely fine man....
