What a great project! Flawless workmanship, look forward to seeing is finished. Bob
Have you found your engine and transmission yet? Perhaps military surplus is an option. Being a former Air Force guy, I know of Aviano Air Base, close to Venice I believe. Not sure if other branches of the US military have bases in Italy. Maybe a surplus truck can be used for a donor vehicle. Not sure how the old military vehicles are dispossed of in Europe. In the Us some get auction off. To get a 350 (5.7) and not a 305 (5.0) you might have to get a 3/4 ton or higher rated truck. Which would be a C20 (3/4 ton), or C30 (1 ton). Good chance it would have the transmission you need. Engine and /or trans might need rebuilt, but could possibly sell off parts you don't want to get some of your money back.
Very nice build!
Very nice work
Thank you very much to all
Hello guys, September has arrived and as I promised here is some update
They came both the motor and the TH350 transmission
Today I assembled the engine and transmission and I have mounted on the frame
What do you think?
Excellent work!! I like your idea of a white paint job, there are too many black trucks out there. White with pinstripes to highlight the interior? Just an idea. Keep up the good work!
Love it man, what are your plans for the tires. I love the contrast of the aged white walls against the immaculate chassis. My opinion, leave those tires right where they are.
Many thanx 38Fish, the body will be white and the interior ... I was thinking of a dark red leather.... but the interior still have time to decide. If you have any idea of color to white to match the body, I accept tips. Thanks
@ KurseD: The tires are 235/75-15 rear and 215/75-15 front, perhaps Coker Classic
(or BFGoodrich) WhiteWall with Wheel Vintiques chrome smoothie wheels and shannon cone cups.
Bye from Frank Orula
bitchin job man! i like how you filled in the corner windows on the cab, everyone seems to be so proud of those things, in my opinion the truck looks better without them. keep up the good work!
White exterior....red interior in leather....TOO COOL !!!
Not bad ....
here I am with new updates. I needed the engine and transmission to end the frame. I'm doing the crossmember of the frame and the transmission crossmember.
I left some holes for the brake lines, wiring, air lines, etc..
I hope to paint these bars for the end of this week
Today I finished the work of stringers. The basis of this I did not square so I thought it otherwise.
thats going to be one bitching truck...nice build keep up the good work
As expected this weekend I finished the work of crossmember
Damn thats nice! Quality work you do!
I would do the same thing.
Very nice work. Any plans to paint the motor?
Beautiful Work man. Keep it up! subscribed
A nice frame like that needs some pinstripping!
I'd love to do white but....
You are right but I'm a fool and I can not help it
Today I changed the old Wheel Studs 7/16 " with new 1/2-20 RH.
As shown in the photos I used a puller and then enlarged the hole
Finished work for the passenger side, I struggled to put pressure on the bolts but they are satisfied with the work I did. Tomorrow I also driver's side
Bye and thanks to all
I also finished the driver's side
I start from here. Air-Ride Install.
I'm looking for the best location for the compressor. I have to prepare two mounting brackets on the frame
Awesome build! Can't wait to see pics of it on he road
Today they returned home I brought the parts to chrome. Special thanks to my friend Giz
