52 Buick issues!

  1. Alrighty boys I just did a 12 volt conversion to my straight 8 and she fires up and purrs like a kitten even faster now! One problem tho! the starter solenoid stays engaged but if I unplug the da clip from the alternator it shuts off and keeps running fine And I can plug the da plug back in and it's fine.. Any ideas on what I did wrong or I was thinking maybe my origank starter just isn't used to 12 volts? Thanks -nick. Ps she just looked so good I had to snap a pic! Also it's still the original gas pedal start.

  2. Sounds like the solenoid is staying powered. How did you do the conversion? What did you change on the ignition? How do you activate the starter now? Switch, push button or your foot
