Just looking at this pic.......my '39 is in the top right hand corner & the '66 truck in your avitar is my old truck! Kev.
Hey BG, How much did you take out of the roof? I think I'm gonna chop mine 6", but only take 4" out of the back window.
Mine is chopped 7 1/4 inches... before you ask I have plenty of head room inside... I need to pie cut the hood to be porportional with the rest of the body. Maybe a 3 inch nose drop?? Thanks Bg
At the risk of hijacking Limey's post...here's a few Thanks for asking...BTW, I chopped my cab 7 1/2", then pie-cut the roof an additional 1 1/2" to lessen the "beak" Dolla
I plan to raise my fenders and running boards up 3" and section the hood 3" to match. This will put the running boards barely below the doors and make the hood more proportional. I will also be raising the bed and rear fenders 3". This should make the rear look better too.
Here is my friend, Edgar old chevy. He chopped it and made the bed from the rear section of a panel truck.
In answer to this question.....yes we did, but had way too much heat & warpage with tig even with short welds & alternating them, in the end mig was easier & kept some of the heat down. Keep the pics coming guys its good to see others!
how tall is your widshield? not sure how much i cut out, i do know that my windshield is 9 1/4'' tall.
I measured mine sometime ago but have forgotten, i think it was 9 inches... I will measure when i get a chance and let you know. The back window is cut to small i think... should be alittle bigger? Bg You can go to this URL and see about 80 pics of this truck... http://www.hotrodders.com/gallery/showgallery.php?ppuser=4756
I'd love to see more pictures of that truck, especially the bed. Do you have any more? Can you post them or maybe email a few to me? Thanks!
I will go and take some pictures of it and post them for you.I have to anyway because he wants to sell it.
Thanks! I've toyed with building one of those for years, and would like to see how someone else did it.
