That's funny, I just saw this and have the exact same cover sitting on the kitchen counter.

Looking at your engine pics again Glen and noticed your wood garage floor. Haven't seen a wood floor in a garage since my grandparents' old house in Miami (built in '30s)

  6. Brerhair its actually laminate flooring. And I love it.

  7. small update.front clip is back on. almost ready to fire the new motor!

    Decided to keep it?
Really like those plug leads. Those details make a great diffrence in an engine bay.
I have a whole list of little stuff like that in my head for the day i'll build a early 50s kustom :D

  12. Yea i am keeping it. Thanks man. I agree it is the small details that make a car for me. My wife was laughing at me because she didn't realize that plug wires were such an important choice.

How does the floor hold up to welding and a floor jacks?

  14. Cowboy i have lived in the house for a year now. Lots of Florida jacks and jackstands not a ton of welding but so far so good. And man of man. It cleans super easy and much nicer then laying on concrete.

I can concour with this statement. I would kill someone, preferably a couple of my neighbourrs LOL, to have a wooden floor to lay on, well, even a concrete floor, as now i have a dirt backyard and stones get stuck on my back all the time....and the dust...etc..
Glad youre keepin it BTW. Im sure its not that far away from being done.

  25. Small update. all of the wiring is done. hooked up a battery tried to turn it over. wrong starter.so i need to pull it and put the old one back in no big deal. then i look at the intake it covered in fuel. pull the aircleaner the carb has fuel pouring out of the top of it. that was the conclusion of my saturday. yesterday i pulled the carb and started to go through it. i will finish it up tonight. so some time this week i might actuall have a running car again.
