Saw "Used Cars" with Kurt Russell last night. In a scene in the back lot there was a beat-up black 49-50 Merc Convertible with fender flames.

Does anyone know if it was the same movie car used in Grease?

  7. Saw this movie when it came out. I was working in Saudi Arabia way the hell out in the desert. Have owned a copy ever since. I gotta go back and check out those scenes and see if I can spot those cars.

I'd say it's probably the same car. Grease was released in '78 and Used Cars in '80.

Grease was a Paramount movie and Used Cars was Columbia, but we know that movie cars are often owned by third-party companies.
