Folks Of Interest 4dr cars that look as good as 2dr version

The Reason that I Took off my rear Door Handles was every time I
puled up to my Local Ice Cream Parlor Everybody would Jump into
The Back seat & Say lets go for a ride Since I was one of the Few guy's
That was Working Full Time, so I got Tired of it.!
And took them of & a couple of month's later I took the Front of
until I went to Florida to reg my Car & the police told me I had to put
The Front Handles on the Car....Incase the car went the canal which went
Thru the Whole City of Miami, So I put them on the Front..

I had a '64 Galaxie 500 hardtop for a while. If you squint really hard, the profile looked ok. The springs were cut so much that one day my exhaust just kind of fell away in traffic. Sounded better afterwards.

 

Seems to me that in the 50's Ford , GM, and Chrysler all had what we called hard top convertables or 2dr and 4dr cars with no center posts. The best looking 4drs ever built!

 

4 door Prefects(Anglia is a 2 door) are much rarer than their Anglia “cousins. You will see 10 Anglias for every 4 door Prefect(English Ford) . Car has 87 Thunderbird super turbo coupe engine approx 190 h.p. In a built frame with 5 spd manual box. Would be surprised if car weight is over 1800 lbs.Should be gr8 FUN!!!

 

One offs and major customs not withstanding, four doors are good for parts and couch conversions.

 

i have a very nice 52 fleetline 2dr . i will trade it for a 4dr fleetline in the same condition right now . might even throw in some money to seal the deal . thats the truth !! i cant think of any other that i like that much......

 

One of my friends and I looked at a 64 XL 4 door thirty-some-odd years ago. Neat car, buckets, console, floor shift.
Really liked it, but not really what he was looking for.

I don’t see one of my favorites of all times, the ‘57 Chevy 4 door wagon! And I do like the roof lines on the ‘56 4 door hardtop.

 

MOST fall under this umbrella . but not all . all the tri 5 gm 4 dr hdtps are very nice in there own right . if you are only talking 4 dr sdn. the list gets very short . the real ugly comes in when they have a higher roof line . thats why i think the fleetlines are so cool . and it sure is nice for loading up . i dont think the younger generations really even see the difference that we did and auto makers are much better now of designing a flow around 4 drs.. i can think of very few newer cars and p/u s, i would even consider owning a 2 dr.. did you EVER want a quad cab p/u .[ crummy] .back in our day . now thats all anyone wants .unless you have a short garage anyway !!...................im in luv with that pontiac !! 2 drs would work also !
