I have never seen something so crusted with oily. greasy grime in all my life. I wouldn't have even thought that was a transmission. It looks like a greasy log. You'll lose a lot of needless weight once it's clean.
Real nice car. I spent the afternoon working on my 50. One of the things I like the best about these old Fords is how they come apart. Sure, you have to cut and break plenty of bolts, but they're easy compared to something like my old Buick. I thought MY transmission was filthy!
