I've installed a 327 sbc and 4 speed in a 49 Ford. Stock drum brakes that are all new. Wheel cylinders shoes, drums, etc.
I used a complete hydraulic clutch setup from a 60 - 62 Chevy truck. Swing pedals from Reno Rod and Custom. New Master (60 - 62 truck Brake/Clutch master - wagner pn F87167 and slave cylinder pn F124369)
    The Clutch works perfect.
The brakes have good pedal, but just slow the car down. Not enough pressure to lock up the brakes. Brakes have been power bled.
Firewall flex was eliminated by tying the pedal assemble into the dash.
Prior to the master cylinder change, the brakes were fine.
I've searched for similar threads with no luck. Would appreciate any help here.
    Thanks
