How could I miss this one? James, you and your buddy Twenty Gallons did an excellent job on this 49 Cadillac. I will follow this built. Keep up the good work!

Aw hell, James...you've got a whole year...the world isn't supposed to end until December 21, 2012...

I have it on good authority that the days after December 21, 2012, will be normal, like the previous 11 months, 21 days...Keep at it...!!!

    Have a Merry and a great 2012...

    R-

  7. Having seen this thing in person, the pictures don't do it much justice...the profile & proportions are so right it's ridiculous.

Great to meet you yesterday Jason...enjoyed talking and looking at your handiwork. Hope my head didn't do too much damage to the garage door:p

Hi James...Its a great illusion hiding the seam on the rear fender, with the trim spear...have you worked out how to lock it in position...be a great feat to hide the front wheel arch as well....the car would like its just hovering with no wheels...the rear fender has a great airfoil shape...very art deco...fantastic work......Doug

this build has inspired me to a new high ! It was pretty close to what I have decided to build with my 49 Pontiac Silver Streak 2dr Sedanette I just picked up . I saw a Caddy done up at a show like this and decided it was me all the way ! On the ground , arm out the window and finger in the air lol
Glad I found this thread !

you say you want it to be kinda like the OZ cad. with or w/out the roof? i'd say with...

In your shoes, I would make it exactly like that. Can't go wrong. Love your build.

The skirts look great! I am thinking of something similar for my 51 Chevy...using the top of the opposite side 1/4 panel I have an extra pair of quarters that only the tops are usable...I think you may have just convinced me !

I saw the title of this thread and thought "oh good god, why would anyone do that to a '49 Caddy, it'll just ruin it" and then I saw the first several photos and you totally proved me wrong.
Beautiful car so far and I cannot wait to see more photos. Keep 'em coming!

You have the extra quarters from the green car...use the top of the pass side as the skirt for the drivers side ....:D
