Hey can I have one of you fine '49-'54 Chevy owners do me a favor if you have the bumpers off your car? Can someone measure the inner width for me? I'm wondering if the width will work for my '49 Ford. I can't find s#!t as far as good Ford bumpers so I'm looking into different options. The mounting brackets/holes I'm not concerned with. I also dont want to cut anything down and have to get it re-chromed cause I'm not rich. On that note, if anyone has a good set of '49 (or '50 or '51) shoebox bumpers they want to part with for a decent price let me know

I have that pic but that doesn't take into account fender width.

I went down and measured one of my old front bumpers. 72 1/2" inside to inside.

    I appreciate that. I'm assuming it's off a '53?

Yes, a '53. I have a back bumper that's off, but it's dark out, raining, and something was lying on top of it and I couldn't pull it free. I can get a measurement on it tomorrow if noone else has provided that measurement by then.

Not sure on the 49 Ford but rear bumpers are narrower than the fronts on later years. Not sure on Chevrolets.
