49-51 merc 3 speed trans

    Im replacing the seals in my trans (has overdrive) and while I removed the side cover I heard some parts come loose. What I found in the case when the cover was off was 3 rectangular steel pieces about. 375" x.750" 18 gauge thick... I have a assembly explosion view of the side cover and overdrive but I cannot find these 3 little rectangular pieces anywhere in the pics. Anybody know what Im talking about?

    they are the "dogs" that help keep 2nd and 3rd gear engaged. if you move 7106 from one side to the other you should be able to see if they are present or not,,,jack

    So they must be PN#7116.

    Yup thays them... just needed the standard trans exploded pic.. thanks guys!
