The little miniature engine (with header) is cute as hell. I like the louvered deck lid too!

I bought one 35+ yrs ago from behind a barn for $7.50 the engine was in the barn w/a cracked block,we tied it to my friends 58 olds 88 & threw the engine in the trunk,we tried some kind of block sealer couldn't make it hold but drove it anyways, short distances.the e-brake worked.had swingarm suspension & the bearings musta been out cuz the wheels toe in we we tookoff & out when brakin,A volkswagen carb made her scream.
fun car,i sold the tires f/$25.00 & front seats f/$35.00 & traded the rest f/a

renault 4cv had one for a field car many years ago I lived very close to Thompson International raceway which at the time was a very well known road race facility with guys like Steve McQueen and Paul Neuman racing there on a regular basis even met the Smothers Brothers there I believe Dick was a formula car driver.Anyway I got the car free and some race team saw it and gave me 50$ for the header which was a factory item on this car they even did the swap and retuned it because I told them I couldn't drive it if it was noisy the neighbors would complain at 12 I was a celebraty because they spent a few hours with the transporter etc.parked in my drive while they swapped parts and stuff.Guess you would have to have lived by a track as a kid to understand how that worked

Owned on of those for a while. Had visions of a Big V-Twin in the back. French cars are a trip. I raced a Renault LeCar for awhile in SCCA events. Lots of suspension travel and good dampening makes'em corner on the door handles, and occasionaly on the roof. lol

why thank you! (where you manage to keep digging these up is becoming a rather unhealthy fascination)

if we were going to be really perverse, i wonder if a one of the A110 gordini motors would fit back there...

In the 'Barris Kustoms of the 1950's' book there is actually a picture of a very nicely scalloped one. From memory it has whitewalls, red t&r interior, black paint with silver/red scallops. Check it out!

The Lancia Integrale S4 is cooler, the Ford is probably easer to get parts for.

But as far as Ralley Cars go, I couldn't think of anything more fun than a Factory prepaired Ford Escort MK1 with a BDA in it...

    Well, maybe a Stratos.

    ( Same two brands, different era...:D :D )
