getting ready to start a new project, got a 317 lincoln y-block with truck bellhousing.Im trying to figure out my trans options and was also wondering if the banjo would be a good option or not? would also like to convert to an open drive, need some advice. Thanks Rob

  2. If you treat the banjo right, it would be ok, there are certainly stronger choices.Do some searches, there's ALOT of info on banjos and open drive conversions here and in the tech archive. That said, my winter project is a banjo with a home grown quickchange and Merc axles. Doesn't get any cooler than that!

I'm trying a 48 banjo behind a 401 nail and a muncie. I'm relying on those skinny bias plys never hooking up. Wish me luck.

The best open drive teck I've seen on here was done by Smokey a couple of years ago. Search it out.
