I dunno, haven't changed my mind about buying a $1800 stoker kit w/roller rockers for my 454/now 505 Suburban engine that lives in my 70 Monte w/4 sp. mind you. Powershift here we go. Them Caddies remind me too much of Buicks and AMCs, oil pump is in the wrong place. Got a few VP pump/converters for them that want the total BPO/Caddie experience.
The latest version of the high performance aluminum head is made by Potter Automotive which has just been purchased by Cadco. Bulldog heads and intakes are still available through different distributors. Quote from the Potter site, The long awaited and highly anticipated "Boogie-Man" cylinder heads are now available. This in the next step in the "Boogie-Man" line. We have spent seven years designing and perfecting the final production of this cylinder head. Using an American made casting, a Haas cnc machine, and a Newen seat and guide machine we have the absolute best cylinder head for a 500 Cadillac on the market. These heads have already been used on several applications from daily driver to full race applications. The unique high velocity port design allows for some head turning flow numbers at high and low valve lift. Out of the box these heads are flowing a head turning 402 cfm, while still allowing strong low lift flow as well. They are assembled with the best seats and bronze guides you can buy. They come with a 7 angle valve job standard. There are several options in valve lift ranging up to 1.200 at the valve and several valve options from SS, Titanium, or Inconel valves to finish the heads for any performance application or level you desire. We have completely redesigned the ports and combustion chamber to increase power. The most unique thing about these cylinder heads is the raised and extended ports, that will allow a stock intake to bolt up. We spent several man hours to get this part right. Even though we have produced a high performance part, we wanted it to be useful on almost any application. Now let's take a look at the flow numbers: Valve lift Int. .200 171 .300 233 .400 296 .500 345 .600 376 .700 391 .800 398 .850 402 We have produced engines with a very streetable 500 hp and N\A full race engines over 800 hp using these heads. These cylinder heads are the crowning jewel of the top end package we offer for any performance 500 Cadillac engine. We have done the research, finished the development and made it easy for you to get every performance desire out of your Cadillac
I have a caddilac motor that I just bought that is brand new but was in the barn for 20 plus years. it is on an engine stand and when I removed the valve cover it still had the white grease on the rocker arms. What I need is some help to ID the engine, size based on the block #r's. Here is what I have so far.stamped on the back of the block is 1482586. Raised 3's cast on the block read 95174742. Can anyone point in the right direction here? I'd really appreciate the help. Also there is what appears to be an brand new ford y block complete from air filter to oil pan with a 6 volt generater on it. I can but that cheap, like 150$ or I can pass it on to someone who is interested as I will not be using it but would only re-sell it.
on the caddy id you can send an e-mail to [email protected] if you would like thanks again in advance for any help
Check out www.modifiedcadillac.com they have a documents section which might have the info you need. Also mts might have some info on their pages. The link should be on an earlier post in this thread.
Who's intake is that in the pics? A few years back we ran the "Bull Dog" intake and I don't remember it looking like that. Thanks.
