The movie is of the times. The only complaint I have is J.T. notes "I never thought I would see the car again". I remember seeing where he had been reunited with the car some years ago. (Like maybe 10). I suppose the movie is sort of like how many of us think bias ply tires are the best thing going while everyone else is oohing and aahing over 17-20 inch tires and noting the car needs a "modern suspension".

I think your right 1711694a7e24b3d76b2e9e9278be048c77db5440.jpg 44826744d37ac251be2da565e2d3c7b81624c378.jpg d4126774ea7ef209ba1d106557491bc4d8060a27.jpg f6f26ea46f74b22ab16d0a6cef874874c7f6269b.jpg . Here's some shots of James Taylor with a car but I'm not sure whether it is the actual car or a clone.

Yeah, I can not remember if it was the car or a clone. I suppose if I cared enough I would look it up.

Not necessarily rare, you can find them on that auction site for the $$$.
I like the ones that have yellowed, have some story's to tell I'm sure.
I can't stomach those newer ones with the shift pattern sunken in plastic.

Why does the door make it appear as if the roof has been chopped?

You can buy the "old style" Hurst knobs all day long for $30, new shifters, at least the last few I bought came with those ugly ones.
I'm afraid to suggest it to them but if they nicked them up they could probably get $60.

The best part of the movie for me was the roar of the 454 and the whine of the M-22 Rock Crusher!

The star of the movie ran an L88/427, regardless of what they said in the movie.
The engine in the camera and stunt cars were 454's.

I was fooled because in the movie, the kid at the gas station asked Taylor if the 55 had a 396 and he told the kid it had a 454.

my favorite line in the show .

  22. The industry is crazy.
Figure modern day dollars and inflation,, the titanic build would cost 166 million to reproduce and the movie titanic cost 200 million to make.
