Technical 47 ford shock link

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by mr. h, May 17, 2016.

  1. So I'm just going to be replacing my shock links for now but I have no idea how to get the old ball parts out so I can put the new ones in. Anyone ever had to deal with this?

    Heat and a big hammer.

Could try an air hammer as well but I haven't tried that personally. They are a tapered shaft and really get lodged in there tight.

I'm curious if anyone else has a method that I haven't heard of though. They can really suck to get out

  3. Haha, well that's good to know. I was worried for a min that they threaded in there which didn't make sense.

Nope there's the thread for the nut and then s tapered shaft. be careful heating the perch mount you can melt the rubber out of the sway bar link pretty easily
